Concept
With its broad, long sleeves falling open, the Áo Tấc (wide-sleeve ceremonial robe) — that is, Áo Ngũ Thân Tay Thụng (five-panel wide-sleeve robe) — stood as the most formal grade within the everyday wardrobe of old Vietnam. It was worn at ancestral worship, joyous occasions and solemn rites, evoking a poised and stately bearing.
